A Neighbourhood Plan is a planning document written by the residents of a community for the benefit of the community.
It will be used as a reference document for Tandridge District Council when determining all planning applications within the Parish area.
Without an up to date Local Plan in place, it will help preserve and protect the character of our village and the surrounding rural area, ensuring all development is in keeping with its surroundings and to enhance and protect our valued countryside environment.
The documents below include the working drafts of the almost finished version. They all need final edits and some updating to reflect the new National Planning Policy Framework. They are included for your information and will be updated regularly
Dormansland Parish Council have tasked a working group of councillors to finish the documents to be ready for a public consultation, hopefully by the end of 2024. Some updating is also needed to ensure it complies with recent changes in planning legislation.
The planning consultants who undertook the bulk of the production of the main plan have been commissioned to write a design guide for parish area. This follows government advice which supports communities having their own design guides which can be used to protect and enhance the character of the area when all planning applications are being considered by the district council.
